Starting in September, there will be changes to curbside trash and recycling collection in Danvers. Residents will receive an industry standard 96-gallon cart for recyclables and a 64-gallon cart for trash collection and will have the option to purchase an additional bin if needed.
The following changes come as a result of an expiring contract with JRM Hauling and Recycling:
Standardized carts will be delivered to residents at no cost including a 96-gallon recycling cart and a 64-gallon trash cart. Additional refuse carts will be made available for purchase.
The hauler will be transitioning to automated collection vs manual collection.
The Town will be returning to every other week collection of recycling. Residents will be informed of which week their recycling will be collected prior to this change.
The town will continue to support a Bulky Item Collection sticker program.
After a competitive bidding process, Danvers ultimately selected Republic Services for the town’s curbside trash and recycling program. The Bulky Item Collection sticker program and leaf and yard waste collection will not be affected by the upcoming changes.
