Extraordinary REALTORS® in the community and industry

North Shore REALTORS® recognizes the exceptional people that help make our association a leading real estate resource. We appreciate the contributions of those that are not only active in the business but committed to the community.

We couldn’t do it without you!

NSR celebrates the accomplishments of REALTORS® and Community members for their contributions to the industry, community, and housing. Congratulations to our 2020-2021 Award Recipients, thank you for all that you do!

REALTOR® OF THE YEAR

Presented annually, the NSR REALTOR® of the Year award recognizes one REALTOR® for outstanding contribution and participation in activities that promote and advance the industry and community at large over the past eighteen months. Each year the winner’s credentials are forwarded to the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® to be in the running to be named state REALTOR® of the Year, an honor that is recognized at the National REALTORS® convention in November.

Our REALTOR® of the year for 2023 is Karen Hanson. Read Karen’s profile below to learn more about her significant contributions to the real estate industry and to our organization.

The North Shore REALTORS® (NSR) recognizes Karen Hanson, Engel & Völkers By the Sea, as the 2023 NSR REALTOR® of the Year. The announcement was made by NSR’s 2022 REALTOR® of the Year Tim Shea at the NSR June EXPO on June 15th.

Our winner this year has been giving in her community, a leader in her brokage, and, luckily for us, both giving and a leader to our association.

In our community, Karen has been a major contributor to Special Olympics, Alzheimer’s Association, Rockport Music, Cape Ann Plein Air, Cape Ann Chamber, and Myopia Polo. She has volunteered her time and office for Pie in the Sky and Open Door. She is also a founding member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance Boston Chapter.

In her brokerage, she has been an impact speaker and presenter on both the national and global level, she has hosted regional brokerage events here on the North Shore, and she has developed innovative leadership training as well as participated in monthly thought groups.

In our association, Karen is both giving and a leader in moving NSR forward. She has served directly as our leader, overseeing a year which brought the first complete slate of in-person events post-pandemic. She is now at work revolutionizing our events as the NSR Event Committee Chair and has made an incredibly generous donation of the new NSR Video Studio with modern lighting, backgrounds, and sound equipment.

Congratulations to Karen Hanson, our 2023 NSR REALTOR® of the Year!
