North Shore REALTORS® (NSR) is a nonprofit advocacy, support, and education resource for REALTORS® and the public.
As a member-based trade association, NSR brings together diverse perspectives from the real estate community across the North Shore of Massachusetts and beyond including buyer and seller agents, appraisers, mortgage brokers, attorneys, home inspectors, property managers, and other service professionals.

NSR Governance
We strictly adhere to our Bylaws and take membership responsibilities seriously. Every member and prospective member of NSR must be familiar with and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, as well as the Constitutions, Bylaws, and Rules and Regulations of the local, state and national associations.
The association is governed by a Board of Directors elected at the association’s annual meeting. The activities and programs of the association are accomplished through committees and work groups approved by the NSR President and are subject to the confirmation of the Board of Directors. NSR’s professional staff works in partnership with its volunteers to implement and provide quality programs and services.
THE NSR DIFFERENCE
NSR is the combination of 4 different boards: The Lynn Real Estate Board, the North Shore Real Estate Board, the Cape Ann Board of REALTORS®, and the Haverhill Board of REALTORS®.
In 1923, our namesake the North Shore Real Estate Board was incorporated in the city of Salem. The oldest association is the Lynn Real Estate Board which incorporated in 1921.
By the 1980s the local boards began to merge. First, in 1981 the Greater Lynn Board of REALTORS® dissolved and was incorporated, then in 1985 the Cape Ann Board of REALTORS® merged, and in 1995 Haverhill followed suit.
In 1996 the North Shore name returned as Greater Salem Association of REALTORS® became the North Shore Association of REALTORS® in a tribute to how they started and how they had grown.
Our staff is highly skilled and committed to helping the public and our members. We are experts in helping our members get started in the industry, grow their knowledge, and expand their focus. Our growing list of members attests to our commitment to provide exemplary service and resources.
NSR is a three-tiered membership with each member also being a part of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) and National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
