Gloucester Councilors Seek Feedback on Floodplain Regulations

Gloucester City Councilor at-Large Jason Grow, chair of the Planning and Development Committee, is seeking questions and/or comments from Gloucester residents about the proposed Gloucester floodplain regulations. Residents may email Councilor at-Large Grow at jgrow@gloucester-ma.gov and those questions would be forwarded to Planning Director Gregg Cademartori.
As a reminder, the proposal would include the implementation of a Floodplain Overlay District which would consist of the Federal Floodplain Overlay District and the Future Floodplain Overlay District. In addition, all new residential construction would be prohibited in the VE Zones and would be further regulated in AE zones.
The Planning and Devlopment Subcommittee will make a recommendation to the full council, which will hold a public hearing scheduled for February 14th. Updates will be posted on the NSR blog.
