Salem ADU Grant Program

Salem’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board (AHTF) will meet on Tuesday, June 29, 2022, at 6:30 PM to discuss an Accessory Dwelling Unit Grant Program. In addition to a potential ADU Grant Program, Salem also has a home rule petition filed in the State House, which would provide property tax exemptions to residents who build ADUs. Other items on the agenda for the Salem AHTF Board meeting include:

  • Acceptance of an appropriation of one million of ARPA money to support AHTF activity
  • Housing Roadmap Update
  • Condominium Conversion Ordinance

Bill H.4453, titled An Act Authorizing the City of Salem to Enact a condominium conversion ordinance for buildings containing two or more residential units, has been referred to the Joint Committee on Housing.
