Nahant Town Meeting Vote Results on Short-Term Rentals

Nahant held a Town Meeting on May 20, 2023, where residents considered two articles related to Short-Term Rentals. Article 24, which was proposed by the Nahant Short-Term Rental Committee, required a special permit to operate non-owner-occupied short-term rentals. Ater a citizen's amendment removing the ability to apply for a special permit for non-owner-occupied short-term rentals in most areas of the town, Article 24 was approved by voters.

Article 25, which was a Citizen’s Petition that would have restricted the number of short-term rental permits provided (see more information in the related blog post below) was indefinitely postponed.
