Lynn Affordable Housing Trust

On June 28, 2022, the Lynn City Council voted unanimously to approve the creation of an affordable housing trust. Originally, the Council planned to hold a public forum on June 14, 2022, to discuss the ordinance, but the meeting was delayed. The funds in the trust will be allocated toward the creation and preservation of affordable housing in the city.
The Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board of Trustees will receive technical support from the Lynn Planning Department, the mayor’s office, the Lynn Housing Authority and the Neighborhood Development, and the Lynn Economic Development and Industrial Corporation.
The composition of the board includes the mayor, a representative from the Lynn planning board, three residents with relevant experience in the fields of real estate, housing banking, finance, law, architecture, or social services and at least two residential tenants in the City of Lynn.
