Community Forum on Essex Zoning Bylaw Review
February 2nd at 2:29pm.
The Town of Essex is hosting a virtual community forum to discuss potential changes to the town’s existing zoning bylaws.
Essex currently has a general zoning district, and three zoning districts that apply to distinct small portions of the town. This type of zoning is unique in that it potentially allows residential, commercial, and industrial land uses to occur anywhere.
Forum attendees will hear how other communities use zoning, specifically creating zones which allow or restrict specific land uses and buffer requirements between residential and commercial/industrial areas.
Please see forum details below:
Date: Tues, Feb. 15, 2022

The Planning Board is actively seeking feedback from residents. Forum attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their opinion about how zoning should be updated (if at all). Feedback from residents will factor into the zoning update recommendations that will be presented to the town by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC).
