Update: Registry of Deeds Closed to Onsite Closings

Update 3/18: The Southern Essex Registry of Deeds has now adopted using a drop-off bin at the front of the building. In addition to the documents to be recorded also leave a contact phone number. You can read more about the new policy here.

The Southern and Northern Essex District Registry of Deeds are closed to onsite closings as of Tuesday March 17th. E-filing and walk-in recordings will still be accepted at the Southern Essex Registry and there is a drop-off bin at the Northern Essex Registry of Deeds. NSAR will continue to monitor the situation closely and deliver updates as they come. NSAR spoke with the registry earlier today and Southern Essex Register John O'Brien is working towards keeping e-filing open even if further shut downs are needed.
