Salem ADU Public Hearing

The Salem City Council will hold Joint Public Meeting with the Planning Board on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, 6:30 P.M. to discuss the proposed zoning amendments to the affordable ADU ordinance. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chambers, 93 Washington St., Salem, 2nd floor.

As a reminder, the proposed changes to the Salem ADU ordinance would do the following:

  • Allowed detached ADUs to be built within a new detached accessory building
  • Remove the owner occupancy requirement
  • The single-meter utility requirement no longer applies to water
  • Remove the 2-bedroom maximum
