The Rockport Selectboard is considering project proposals for the remaining $1.9 million of ARPA funding. Of the $2.1 million in ARPA funding received by Rockport, $153,200 was utilized to purchase COVID-19 testing kits for residents and $75,000 was used for the development of a Housing Production Plan. Projects the Selectboard is considering for the remaining ARPA funding include:
$100,000 for the Rockport Affordable Housing Trust
$1 million dollars for water and sewer infrastructure improvements
$750,000 to renovate the Town Hall (which includes asbestos remediation)
$30,000 to support Rockport non-profits whose programming was affected by COVID-19
$25,000 to address climate resiliency at Long Beach Properties
$25,000 for downtown beautification efforts
$15,000 to implement Rockport’s American with Disabilities Action Plan
The project proposals are at this point tentative. The Selectboard will take a final vote on funding at an upcoming November Selectboard meeting. Rockport residents will consider the Selectboard's recommendations approve final ARPA expenditure at Town Meeting.
