NFIP Extended to September 2021

Yesterday, the insurance writing authority of the National Flood Insurance Program received a one-year extension through a continuing resolution to keep the federal government open. After a 2 year period where NFIP had to be extended more than a dozen times, this marks the second consecutive extension of 9 months or more. NFIP is critical to providing an affordable flood insurance option to home owners in need.

NAR will continue to advocate for meaningful NFIP reform and long-term reauthorization, which includes improved mapping, enhanced mitigation, and removing obstacles to private flood insurance.
