The working draft ADU ordinance would allow attached and detached ADUs to be built by right with the following requirements/restrictions:
Maximum habitable space of 900 square feet or 50% of the gross principal dwelling (whichever is less).
Maximum of 2 bedrooms
Owner-occupancy of the principal unit or ADU is required
Short-term rentals are prohibited
One additional 9x18 ft parking space required
Special permits are required for any attached or detached ADU that does not have one additional 9x18 parking space or is not compliant with all the dimensional regulations. Updates will be posted on the NSR Blog.
