The Manchester-by-the-Sea Board of Selectmen have postponed the June 11th Special Town Meeting. The Planning Board will meet with the selectmen on Monday, June 6th to pick a new date and time. At the future Special Town Meeting, residents will vote to approve a revised ADU ordinance which would allow ADUs to be built by right if they comply with the following regulations:
Limited size to 900 square feet
Owner occupancy requirement
Minimum 6-month lease
In addition, Manchester has placed a cap of 20 on the number of new ADU units built per year. ADUs that do not comply with the above requirements will be allowed if they receive a special permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals. Updates, including the date and time of the rescheduled Special Town Meeting will be posted to the GA blog.
