Manchester-by-the-Sea held a Special Town Meeting which adjourned before voters considered zoning changes related to ADUs, conservation cluster zoning, and senior housing. Citing the need for clarity and additional information, residents indefinitely tabled warrant articles 9-16.
The NSR Government Affairs Committee voted to publicly support the ADU related zoning changes, which would have allowed ADUs to be built by right if they comply with the following regulations:
Maximum size of 900 sq. Ft.
Owner occupancy requirement
Minimum 6-month lease
Annual cap of 20 new ADU units per year
Updates about future Manchester-by-the-Sea town meetings will be posted on the NSR blog.
