Ipswich Rejects Multi-Family Construction Moratorium
Posted on October 19th at 9:21am.
On Saturday, Ipswich held a Special Town Meeting which included an article that would impose a two-year moratorium on new residential constructions of 3 units or more. NSAR opposed the moratorium and submitted a letter to the editor to the Ipswich Chronicle prior to the Special Town Meeting. You can read the letter here.
The Special Town Meeting also heard an article that would end the ability for developers to pay the fee-in-lieu payment for non-fractional units as part of the Inclusionary Zoning Bylaw. This article also failed to pass the needed super majority vote threshold needed. NSAR did not take a position on this issue.
