The Georgetown Planning Department voted to recommend a proposal to the Select Board that would update the town’s minimum off-street parking requirements by adding an Electric Vehicle (EV). Please see a summary of proposed off-street parking requirement changes below:
In all developments requiring parking spaces, 1 parking space per detached residential unit must be wired for Electric Vehicle charging
A minimum of 20% of the parking spaces required for multi-family dwelling, and commercial or industrial use must be wired for Electric Vehicle charging
The proposal would need to be approved by residents at the upcoming 2023 Spring Town Meeting. Updates will be posted on the NSR Blog.
