At Essex’s Fall Town Meeting, residents approved the town’s plan to purchase an 11.5-acre parcel of land located at 30 Apple Street. Receiving the required 2/3 majority vote, Essex now has the authority to raise and borrow money to finance the $1.15 million purchase.
The land is adjacent to the town’s Department of Public Works and transfer station. The town would like to create an alternative access to the Public Works yard and transfer station. Future use of the land, if the purchase is executed, will be determined by Essex residents at an upcoming Town Meeting.
