The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® launched a Call for Action to let legislators know REALTORS® oppose sales taxes on homes. Click HERE to send an email in opposition of transfer taxes to your State Senator and Representative.
The proposed sales tax on homes that is currently being considered by the Massachusetts State Legislature would do the following:
Disrupt the housing market and cause a significant reduction in your sales volume.
Increase housing prices and push many North Shore residents even farther from the dream of home ownership.
Unfairly target the 2.5% of all Massachusetts residents that buy or sell their home each year
Add an additional $11,700 dollars in closing costs to a median priced home on the North Shore.
