Loss Mitigation Certification Program

Tuesday, June 24, 2008
9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel, Danvers

Learn to Work with Foreclosures, Short Sales, Auctions

NSAR, in conjunction with Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® is pleased to offer a new one-day certification course that will teach REALTORS® how to work effectively with complicated transactions involving foreclosures, short sales, properties at auction or bank owned (also known as real estate owned or REO), and help attendees protect their commissions as they assist buyers, sellers and mortgage companies through the process.

The one-day course will equip attendees to deal with short sales on both the buying and listing side; how to best approach lenders; and what information they will be required to produce.  Since not all short sales avoid foreclosure, attendees will also learn about the auction process including viewings, financing, bidding, and commission concerns.  Lastly, this course will also address the human element of these transactions as consumers potentially face losing their homes.

Taught by national and local experts in loss mitigation, Val Gehringer, Linda Kody and Ed Bugos, this course will help REALTORS® advance into new business opportunities in the current market.

 $295 Tuition Includes:

Certification Upon Completion of Class and Lifetime Usage of the LMC Logo,  Two CE Credits, and Lunch.

Registration Restricted to Realtor® Members Only

Register Online at www.marealtor.com or return form

Carbon Monoxide Detector Law
The carbon monoxide detector law became effective on March 31, 2006.  All single and multi-family homes in the Commonwealth equipped with fossil burning equipment that produces carbon monoxide or which have enclosed parking attached to the living areas are required to have carbon monoxide detectors installed.  The law, and the regulations that implement it, apply to ALL homes and not just those that are being sold.

MAR has developed "What You Need to Know" information summaries for REALTORS, homeowners, and landlords.  For links to the Q&As.

“Real Change does not occur in an up market”
NEW REPORT LOOKS AT INDUSTRY FUTURE

As the U.S. moves through the current real estate cycle, local market conditions are continually changing.  While short-term business issues have dominated local headlines, there has been little discussion of the longer-term structural changes that will shape the real estate industry in the years ahead.

“The Cycle of Change- Creating Value Beyond the Immediate Market” is a NAR report of the AEC Strategic Issues Work Group meant to stimulate thinking about long-term industry issues.

 Consider these Emerging Trends:
The rise of Social Media
Real Estate as Entertainment
Who Do you Trust? Consumer demanding greater transparency
More Industry Regulation

How will you compete?

Have you consider the impact of - The Rise of Social Media- blogging, YouTube, Viral Marketing, Rate your broker or Agent, Growing Consumer Power & Diversity to your business?

The report looks at on-line, consumer, transaction, technology, agent and property data trends and encourages you to analysis your current practices in order to take advantage of the new opportunities presented by the ongoing cycle of change.
