Local News: Salem City Council to Consider Short-Term Rentals Ordinance this Thursday, September 6th at 6pm

9.5.18

Salem’s City Council Committee on Ordinances, Licenses and Legal Affairs (OLLA) will consider a Short-Term Rentals Ordinance this Thursday, September 6th at 6:00 PM at Salem City Hall, 93 Washington Street. This ordinance should be of concern to REALTORS® as it limits the rights of property owners.

The proposed Short-Term Rentals Ordinance bans all non-owner occupied/Investor-owned properties for use as short-term rentals, such as Airbnbs.

As the voice of real estate on the North Shore and advocates for homeownership and private property rights, the North Shore Association of REALTORS® opposes any proposals that would limit the rights of private property owners to rent their own property.

NSAR members from Salem are encouraged to attend this Committee meeting and voice your concerns.

Please let NSAR know if you are able to attend by sending an email to Kristian at kristian@northshorerealtors.com or by phone at 978-232-9410.
