Ipswich Voters Preserve Maplecroft Farm

The Ipswich Chronicle reported that a Special Town Meeting in Ipswich was held on Oct. 19 where voters authorized to tap the town’s open-space bond for $2.2 million to preserve 247 acres of Maplecroft Farm.
The purchase will preserve the land in perpetuity, including 100 acres of agricultural use, 1.5 mile bridal, hiking and biking and open space that include salt marsh, wetlands, forest and "the largest grassland habitat in eastern Massachusetts".
