2.26.10 No Power- NSAR Office- today's class cancelled

The Safeguarding Your Business course has been cancelled due to the power outage at the NSAR office. We will be rescheduling this course for next week.

2.10.10 February 11th CEU Classes Rescheduled

Due to the weather conditions, the NSAR Continuing Education Classes scheduled for Thursday, February 11th from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. have been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16th from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

NAR's new consumer Web site offers everything home owners need to increase, maintain and protect the value of their home. The site provides free information and tools to help home owners with home improvements, maintenance projects, taxes, finances, insurance, and even community involvement.

10.27.09 2010 Membership Renewals

The 2010 membership renewals will be sent to all members on November 1st, 2009. Members paying dues in full by November 30th will receive a $25.00 Education Voucher to be used towards NSAR continuing education courses. A dues payment plan is being offered again this year.

In his speech at the National Association of REALTORS® Housing Summit on May 12, 2009, US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan announced a program that allows borrowers to use the first-time homebuyer tax credit for a down payment or closing costs on a FHA-insured mortgage The details of the program were announced today in Mortgagee Letter 2009-15. 4.24.09 Statewide Sales Tax on Real Estate Commissions Proposed

The state House of Representatives is scheduled to begin debate next week on the budget. Of the 1,000 plus amendments that have been filed, one amendment in particular- entitled amendment #28- has been filed by Rep. Peter Kocot (D) Northampton. Amendment 28 would expand the state’s sales tax on goods to include services. This would appear to include real estate services, legal services, health care services, accounting services etc.
